What the heck is \u201cchupe de camarones\u201d?&nbsp; Should I order the \u201cmurgh cholay\u201d or not?<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"209\" src=\"https:\/\/calexis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Chupe-de-camarones.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-208\" srcset=\"https:\/\/calexis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Chupe-de-camarones.jpg 300w, https:\/\/calexis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Chupe-de-camarones-200x140.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Chupe de Camarones<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Nothing shows sophistication like being fluent in <strong>Menu<\/strong>.&nbsp; It is the language of pleasure and sustenance. It is a language, once mastered, that can amaze and entertain your friends.&nbsp; And give you great satisfaction in any number of restaurants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No, we don\u2019t want to be fluent in French, just French menu.&nbsp; We want to know enough to avoid the rognons but accept the agneau and sound sophisticated in doing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And yet there are no courses in Menu out there.&nbsp; There is only dining experience to gather new words and usage.&nbsp; It is like landing in a foreign country and learning by trial and unpalatable error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Early and Middle Menu were not difficult \u2013 words like \u201croast beef\u201d or \u201cfish and chips\u201d or \u201cpizza\u201d were not difficult to master.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But like most living languages, Menu, is rapidly evolving and escalating.&nbsp; Its vocabulary is expanding as new cuisines, techniques and dishes emerge. Sous vide anyone?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Becoming fluent in menu is not something that comes naturally, and there are no native speakers.&nbsp; I once asked a waiter for a bottle of Chateaubriand for two and the waiter seriously checked it out, carefully examining the wine list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a&nbsp;constant arms race of obscure foodie terms that creep onto menus, trying to fool even the most fluent Food Network viewer.&nbsp; Learning Menu is an ongoing task.&nbsp; New words, new techniques, new sausages, cheeses, national dishes\u2026. how can anyone keep up?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, I want to start the Berlitz School of Menu.&nbsp; Learning and eating our way around the world, dining and absorbing culture.&nbsp; We\u2019ll make a fortune!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glossary: Chupe de camarrones is a Peruvian fish stew that includes cheese, potatoes, fish, peppers and, in this case, shrimps (camarrones).&nbsp; Hashi are chopsticks; gohan is rice.&nbsp; Palinka is a Hungarian eau de vie \u2014 eau de vie is a brandy made from fruit.&nbsp; Murgh is chicken and cholay is curried garbanzos or chick peas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Berlitz!\u00a0 Hello Rosetta Stone!\u00a0Het, Duolingo!
